iubenda alternative: CookieHub vs iubenda
iubenda is a legal compliance suite: privacy and cookie policy generators, terms and conditions, a consent database and a cookie banner. CookieHub is a consent management platform only.
Both are Google-certified CMPs registered with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. The main differences are what each product covers and how each one counts your traffic.
This page compares the two using each vendor's own website, checked on 24 September 2026.
The short version
Choose iubenda if you want terms and conditions and other legal documents generated alongside your banner, or you need consent for mobile apps as well as websites.
Choose CookieHub if what you need is a consent platform, especially for a site where visitors view several pages per visit: CookieHub counts visits, not page views. For your privacy policy there is a free privacy policy generator.

Visits vs page views
iubenda counts page views. Essentials covers 25,000 a month for €5.99, Advanced 50,000 for €21.99 and Ultimate 150,000 for €89.99, per site. Above the quota, paid plans are charged €0.05 per 1,000 extra page views.
CookieHub counts sessions. A session starts when a visitor loads the site and the banner initializes, and it covers every page they view on that visit. Starter is €6 a month for 5,000 sessions, Basic €10 for 30,000, Business €30 for 120,000.
A worked example. Take a site with 20,000 visits a month at five pages per visit, which is 100,000 page views. It also needs its banner in English, French and German. On iubenda, languages beyond one require Advanced: €21.99 for the first 50,000 page views plus €2.50 for the other 50,000, so €24.49 a month. On CookieHub the 20,000 visits fit in Basic, which is €10 a month and includes all 62 languages.
The fewer pages people view per visit, the smaller that gap gets. Compare both for your own traffic.
Where iubenda is stronger
A fair comparison has to include these:
Legal documents:
iubenda generates privacy and cookie policies in 27 languages, terms and conditions and other documents. CookieHub offers a free privacy policy generator and a cookie declaration, but no terms and conditions.
Mobile apps:
iubenda is registered on the IAB list for mobile apps as well as the web. CookieHub is registered for the web.
More compliance tools:
iubenda also offers a GDPR records-of-processing tool, a whistleblowing tool and an accessibility add-on.
Cheap entry for single-language sites:
Essentials is €4.99 a month billed yearly for 25,000 page views.
When CookieHub is the better fit
Multilingual sites:
All 62 languages, with automatic detection, from Basic at €10 a month.
Sites where visitors view several pages per visit:
You pay for visits, not page views, and there is no charge per extra page view.
Proof of consent without add-ons:
Every plan includes a consent log, including Free.
No per-page-view charges:
On a paid plan, going over your limit adds no metered charge. After two billing periods over, the domain moves to the right plan, and the banner keeps running throughout.
Developers:
A documented JavaScript API with events on every plan and a Management API on Enterprise.
Switching from iubenda
CookieHub builds its own cookie list from a scan, so there is nothing to export first.
Create an account:
Start the free trial and add your domain. CookieHub scans the site and sorts the cookies it finds into categories.
Review the categories and design:
Check the categorization, pick a banner template and set your colours and languages.
Swap the script:
Replace the iubenda script with the CookieHub script, or use the CookieHub template in Google Tag Manager. Remove iubenda completely so two banners never run at once.
Check the result:
Run the Google Consent Mode checker to confirm consent signals reach Google.
Expect one new prompt:
Consent stored by iubenda is kept in its own cookie, which CookieHub cannot read. Returning visitors are asked once more.
Frequently asked questions
Partly. CookieHub has a free privacy policy generator: you answer a questionnaire and download the policy to publish on your site. It also generates a cookie declaration from its scan. It does not generate terms and conditions or other legal documents; iubenda does.
Yes. Both are on Google's list of certified CMPs: iubenda under TCF CMP ID 123, CookieHub under ID 354.
On iubenda's paid plans you pay €0.05 per 1,000 extra page views; on its free plan the banner stops for the rest of the month. On a paid CookieHub plan, a domain over its session limit for two consecutive billing periods moves to the right plan, and the banner keeps working. On CookieHub's Free plan the banner stops until you upgrade.
Yes, once. Each platform stores consent in its own cookie, so CookieHub cannot read choices a visitor made in iubenda's banner.
