Termly alternative: CookieHub vs Termly

Termly is a policy generator suite with a consent manager included: privacy policies, terms, cookie policies, a banner and a scanner. CookieHub is a consent management platform only.

Both are Google-certified CMPs registered with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework, and both honor Global Privacy Control.

This page compares the two using each vendor's own website, checked on 24 September 2026.

The short version

Choose Termly if you also want your policies generated in the same product, or if you need the IAB TCF on a small budget: Termly includes it in Pro+ at $20 a month.

Choose CookieHub if you need a consent platform with more languages, proof of consent on every plan and more control for developers. A free privacy policy generator is included, but not the other documents Termly generates.

Pricing

Termly prices each website by banner views. Starter is $14 a month ($10 billed yearly) for 50,000 banner views. Pro+ is $20 a month ($15 billed yearly) with unlimited banner views, multiple languages, the IAB TCF, advanced Consent Mode and consent logs.

CookieHub prices each domain by sessions, from $7 a month for 5,000 sessions on Starter, $12 for 30,000 on Basic and $35 for 120,000 on Business. Paying yearly gets you 12 months for the price of 11.

For a single-language site with modest traffic, CookieHub's Starter and Basic plans cost less. For a busy site that needs the IAB TCF, Termly Pro+ costs less, because its banner views are unlimited and CookieHub includes the TCF only from Business.

Where Termly is stronger

A fair comparison has to include these:

Policy generators:

Privacy policy, terms and conditions, cookie policy, EULA, disclaimer, Impressum and more, in the same account. CookieHub offers a free privacy policy generator and a cookie declaration, but not the other documents.

TCF on a smaller budget:

The IAB TCF is included in Pro+ at $20 a month. CookieHub includes it from Business at $35 a month.

Unlimited traffic on Pro+:

Pro+ has no banner-view limit, which suits very busy sites.

Weekly scans for less:

Pro+ scans weekly. CookieHub scans weekly only on Enterprise.

When CookieHub is the better fit

Many languages:

62 languages with automatic detection from Basic, against the 13 Termly lists on its product page.

Proof of consent on every plan:

A consent log is included on every plan, including Free. At Termly consent logs start at Pro+.

Developers and agencies:

A documented JavaScript API on every plan, a Management API on Enterprise, and one dashboard for many domains with a 30% partner discount.

Switching from Termly

CookieHub builds its own cookie list from a scan, so there is nothing to export first.

Create an account:

Start the free trial and add your domain. CookieHub scans the site and sorts the cookies it finds into categories.

Review the categories and design:

Check the categorization, pick a banner template and set your colours and languages.

Swap the script:

Replace the Termly script with the CookieHub script, or use the CookieHub template in Google Tag Manager. Remove Termly completely so two banners never run at once.

Check the result:

Run the Google Consent Mode checker to confirm consent signals reach Google.

Expect one new prompt:

Consent stored by Termly is kept in its own cookie, which CookieHub cannot read. Returning visitors are asked once more.

Frequently asked questions

No. Termly covers the GDPR and UK GDPR as well as CCPA and other US state laws, and it is Google-certified and registered for the IAB TCF. CookieHub covers the same ground as a CMP; the difference is that Termly also generates a wider set of legal documents.

Yes. Both are on Google's list of certified CMPs: Termly under TCF CMP ID 412, CookieHub under ID 354.

It depends on what you need. CookieHub's Starter ($7 for 5,000 sessions) and Basic ($12 for 30,000) cost less than Termly's Starter ($14 for 50,000 banner views) and include proof of consent. If you need the IAB TCF, Termly Pro+ ($20) costs less than CookieHub Business ($35). Termly counts banner views and CookieHub counts sessions, so check both against your own traffic.

Yes, once. Each platform stores consent in its own cookie, so CookieHub cannot read choices a visitor made in Termly's banner.
