Usercentrics alternative: CookieHub vs Usercentrics

Usercentrics is the company behind Cookiebot, and it also sells its own CMP for websites, mobile apps and connected TV. Like CookieHub, its web CMP is priced by sessions, which makes the two unusually easy to compare.

Both are Google-certified CMPs registered with the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework. The differences are how many sessions and domains each price buys, and which platforms each covers.

This page compares the two using each vendor's own website, checked on 24 September 2026.

The short version

Choose CookieHub for one website, or a few, with real traffic: each euro buys more sessions, and all 62 languages come from Basic at €10 a month.

Choose Usercentrics if you run several small domains on one plan, or you need consent in mobile apps or on connected TV from the same vendor.

Sessions, domains and price

Usercentrics prices its web CMP by sessions, which it counts each time a visitor loads your website, for a 30-minute period. Essential is €7 a month for 1,500 sessions, Plus €15 for 3,000, Pro €30 for 15,000 across up to three domains and Business €50 for 50,000 across up to ten, with higher Business tiers from there. Plans upgrade automatically when you exceed their limits.

CookieHub also prices by sessions, per domain. A session starts when a visitor loads the site and the banner initializes. Starter is €6 a month for 5,000 sessions, Basic €10 for 30,000, Business €30 for 120,000 and Enterprise €100 from 1,000,000.

One busy site. A site with 50,000 sessions a month needs Usercentrics Business at €50 a month, and fits in CookieHub Business at €30, which includes the IAB TCF and all 62 languages.

Several small sites. Three sites with 4,000 sessions each fit in one Usercentrics Pro plan at €30 a month, with 60 languages and the IAB TCF included. On CookieHub each domain needs its own plan: three Basic plans at €30 in total with all languages, but three Business plans, €90 in total, if all three need the TCF.

Where Usercentrics is stronger

A fair comparison has to include these:

Several domains on one plan:

Pro covers up to three domains and Business up to ten, so a group of small sites can share one plan.

Apps and connected TV:

Separate Usercentrics products cover iOS, Android, Flutter, React Native and Unity apps, and connected-TV platforms. CookieHub is registered as a web CMP.

Accessibility certification:

Usercentrics says its banners are certified to WCAG 2.2 AA.

Faster support on Business:

Usercentrics offers premium support, as fast as one hour, from its Business plan.

When CookieHub is the better fit

More sessions for the money:

On a single site, each CookieHub plan includes more sessions than the Usercentrics plan at the same price: 120,000 against 15,000 at €30 a month.

Languages at a lower tier:

All 62 languages from Basic at €10 a month. Usercentrics includes its full set from Pro at €30.

Subdomains:

On Business and above, CookieHub scans subdomains and shares consent between them. Usercentrics counts each subdomain as a separate domain.

Developers:

A documented JavaScript API with events on every plan, and a Management API for configuring the CMP on Enterprise.

Switching from Usercentrics

CookieHub builds its own cookie list from a scan, so there is nothing to export first.

Create an account:

Start the free trial and add your domain. CookieHub scans the site and sorts the cookies it finds into categories.

Review the categories and design:

Check the categorization, pick a banner template and set your colours and languages.

Swap the script:

Replace the Usercentrics script with the CookieHub script, or use the CookieHub template in Google Tag Manager. Remove Usercentrics completely so two banners never run at once.

Check the result:

Run the Google Consent Mode checker to confirm consent signals reach Google.

Expect one new prompt:

Consent stored by Usercentrics is kept in its own cookie, which CookieHub cannot read. Returning visitors are asked once more.

Frequently asked questions

No. Usercentrics owns Cookiebot, but they are separate products with separate pricing: Cookiebot is priced by subpages per domain, the Usercentrics web CMP by sessions. When the companies merged in 2021, Usercentrics said it would focus on enterprise customers and Cookiebot on small and mid-sized businesses.

For a single site, usually: at every price point CookieHub includes more sessions. For several small domains that share one plan, Usercentrics can cost less, because its Pro and Business plans cover three and ten domains.

Yes. Both are on Google's list of certified CMPs: Usercentrics under TCF CMP ID 5, CookieHub under ID 354.

Yes, once. Each platform stores consent in its own cookie, so CookieHub cannot read choices a visitor made in the Usercentrics banner.
